Renfe and Adif unions reach agreement and call off five-day strike

Unions representing workers from rail operators Renfe and Adif have reached an agreement with the Ministry of Transportation, Mobility, and Urban Agenda, resulting in the cancellation of the planned five-day strike set to start on today.

The strike would have affected over one thousand five hundred trains, including high-speed and Long-Distance services.

The agreement, which is yet to be officially signed, is to be discussed further with the involved companies. Once signed, the strike will be officially called off.

A follow-up meeting will be held before December fifteenth to address outstanding matters.

The industrial action was called after concerns were raised following plans to move operation of Catalonia’s regional rail service to the regions government.
