Weather warnings issued for heatwaves before end of June

Weather forecasters are warning that the country could experience extreme temperatures before the end of the month, with some areas likely to see records broken.

According to modelling by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, Seville and the south coast are likely to see temperatures in excess of 45C before the end of the month, due to a warm air mass due to pass over the Iberian peninsular.

Forecasts for the next 6 to 10 days suggest that temperatures will increase across Europe as a heatwave brings unseasonably warm temperatures.
