PowerOn Gold Spanish Defence Minister Margarita Robles Provides Update on Pegasus Software Incident

Defence Minister, Margarita Robles, has testified before the National Security Committee, clarifying that the Pegasus software infection on government officials’ phones, including the Prime Minister’s, affected privacy but not national security.
Despite accusations from opposition parties regarding the announcement of the hack, Ms. Robles insisted that no classified information was compromised.
During the hearing she also said that the Government was working fully with investigators and the courts surrounding the incident in May 2022.
