Morocco not ruled out as source of spy software

MEP’s investigating the use of Pegasus spy software on politcians phones have said that they have not ruled out the use of the software by Morocco.

During a press conference on Tuesday, European Parliamentary committee members Jeroen Lenaers and Sophie in’t Veld said that the primary outcomes following meetings in Madrid pointed to foreign interference, rather than domestic use.

Alongside members of the government, sepratist politicians from the Catalan region were also interviewed after their phones were found to be infected with the spy software.

However, the MEP’s did voice their complaint after meetings with some government ministers were cancelled, though they stressed they did not think the cancellations were an attempt to hinder the investigation.
