Millions of euros worth of boats destroyed in fire

An investigation has been launched after millions of euros worth of boats and yachts were destroyed in a fire at Marbella.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire at the La Bajadilla fishing port at around 7pm on Wednesday night, with reports that a storage facility had caught ablaze.

It’s understood the facility contained a number of boats which were under various stages of repair or storage over the winter months.

Around 30 firefighters were involved in tackling the blaze, which was finally extinguished yesterday morning.

No one was hurt in the incident, with the cause of the fire as of yet unknown.
