CSCJ acquits former Catalan speaker Roger Torrent

The Catalan Superior Court of Justice has acquitted the former speaker Roger Torrent and the Bureau of Parliament on charges of Constitutional disobedience.
In the ruling issued yesterday, judges found that Mr. Torrent did not expressly disobey the Constitution when he permitted self-determination resolutions to be debated in the Catalan parliament.
Pro-independence politicians celebrated the verdict in the parliament chamber, however one of those who faced charges has said he will challenge the ruling, after refusing to acknowledge the court.
Junts per Catalunya’s Josep Costa said he will appeal the ruling, say that parliament should be inviable against the regional court.
