Anti-Corruption Raids at Spanish Football Federation

At least six people have been arrested after the offices of the Spanish FA were raided along with the home of former president Luis Rubiales.

The raids were carried out as part of a Guardia Civil probe into a deal to take the Spanish Super Cup to Saudi Arabia.

In a press statement, officials confirmed the disgraced former President – Luis Rubiales – is among the five additional people who have officially been put under investigation.

In September, Rubiales stepped down as head of the Spanish FA following complaints he kissed player Jenni Hermoso without her consent after Spain’s victory in the Women’s World Cup.

He was banned from any roles in professional football for three years after an investigation by FIFA.
