The Pope Expresses Desire to Visit Canary Islands Amid Migration Crisis

The Pope has reiterated his wish to visit the Canary Islands due to the ongoing migration crisis.

Meeting with diocesan media delegates at the weekend, he said that he hoped to visit the archipelago.

Auxiliary Bishop Cristóbal Déniz confirmed that the Pope acknowledged the work of the Canarian dioceses and expressed gratitude for their care of the islands.

The Popes comments come after similar plans were mentioned during the Pope’s Asian trip last September.
