School children to return to classrooms on the 10th January

School children will return to the classroom on the 10th January, it was confirmed by the Government yesterday.

In a meeting between the Government, members of the education sector and the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System, it was confirmed that the school year would resume with in person teaching from the 10th January.

The meeting was held following the regional leadership conference last month, where agreements over the safe return to the classroom were made.

In a press conference yesterday, Minister of Health – Carolina Darias – said that the peak of the Omicron variant in Spain appeared to be on the 22nd December – the day that schools broke up for the Christmas holidays.
