Government approves €309 million emergency plan for Ceuta

The government has approved a 309-million-euro emergency plan for Ceuta, aimed at strengthening public services, security, migrant reception and the city’s economy following July’s mass arrival of migrants.

The package, approved by the Council of Ministers yesterday (Monday), will mobilise the money over the remaining four months of 2026 — equivalent to around 16 percent of Ceuta’s annual economic output.

The measures include support for businesses and self-employed workers, additional resources for healthcare, education and security, and funding to manage the migrant reception system.

The government says the plan is designed to provide an immediate response to the exceptional circumstances facing the autonomous city.
