Criminal Network Dismantled For Defrauding Social Security

A criminal network in Madrid accused of defrauding Social Security of over 4 million euros through false unemployment benefit claims has been dismantled by Policia Nacional.

25 individuals, including public employees and bank workers, were arrested in 16 raids carried out across the region.

Computers, mobile devices, luxury watches, more than 25,000 euros in cash, four vehicles, and a wealth of documentation related to the fraudulent scheme were seized by police.

The investigation, which was launched in December 2022, uncovered over 400 illicit cases between 2020 and 2024.
