11 arrested after Christmas Day murder of woman in Elche

Policia Nacional in Elche have arrested 11 people in connection to a murder of a 25-year-old woman on Christmas Day.

Seven men and four women were detained accused of providing alibi’s for the main suspect in what is belived to be a case of gender violence.

Officers detained the main suspect after barracading himself in a property with four others and opening fire with an assault rifle on the 30th December – no one was injured during the incident.

Raids were carried out in the towns of Elche and Santa Pola which has also uncovered the believed murder weapon, as well as large quantities of cocaine and heroin.
