Government faces criticism over statistics mix up
Written by sjames on 27 April 2020
The Government has faced criticism after it announced that Spain was in the top ten countries worldwide for testing for the coronavirus.
In a statement issued yesterday, the government said that Spain was the eighth most tested country in the OECD. However when data was amended removing antibody testing, it placed Spain in 18th position.
Confusion came after the source data was found to include additional tests unlike other nations in the OECD, as well as coming directly from the coalition executive, rather than from national statistic records.

Opposition parties have criticised the approach calling the data questionable, as well as incomparable to other countries.
