Glimmer of hope as case numbers appear to slow, as Government faces criticism for late publication of emergency laws

The growth in the number of new coronavirus cases appears to be slowing, according to Foreign Minister Arancha González.
Another 6,400 cases were confirmed on Monday, the lowest increase in new cases for a week. It comes as officials are warning that the peak period is rapidly approaching.

Meanwhile the Government has faced criticism for publishing updated laws on the cessation of essential services shortly before midnight on Sunday night.
Business leaders said the late publication of the legal text meant they had no time to make the required adjustments to working schedules. The Government have deferred the ending of non-essential work until today.
