🔴 LIVE – Amber alert for storms issued for Canaries

Meteorological agency Aemet has issued an amber weather warning for the western Canaries until Monday afternoon, and yellow weather warnings across the rest of the region.

Storm force winds, rough seas and calima conditions are being reported across the islands, with football matches cancelled for the weekend, and carnival events postponed on Sunday.

Warm winds, rough seas and high levels of dust in the air are expected, due to a weather system bringing warm but dusty air from the Sahara.
People with respiratory problems, the elderly or the infirm are being advised to avoid strenuous exercise.
