Drones fail to locate trapped dogs at first attempt

A drone operation to help rescue a number of trapped dogs has been put on hold, after the animals dissapeared from where they were spotted.

Approval for the rescue was given on Tuesday, and yesterday saw operators from Aerocameras launch thier first attempts at rescuing the animals, however when flying over the known locations, found that they were no longer visible on camera.

Thermal imaging cameras were rendered inoperable due to the surrounding lava.

The team is expected to return later today to see if they can locate the missing animals and bring them to safety.
