Ángel Víctor Torres named in Koldo case probe, yet found to have not committed any wrongdoing

Guardia Civil have said the former President of the Canary Islands – Ángel Víctor Torres – may have been unintentionally influenced to seek payments for a company awarded mask contracts irregularly – however the report found no wrongdoing on Mr. Torres part.

In a comprehensive report comprising approximately three hundred pages, Guardia Civil’s UCO team presented findings to the Audiencia Nacional as part of the ongoing Koldo Case.

According to the UCO, Torres’s engagement in this matter was influenced by Koldo García, who was reportedly in a position to request these payments due to his connections.

A spokesperson for Mr. Torres said however that his actions did not break any laws or rules, after numerous checks by regional authorities, calling accusations a “smear campaign”.

All deny any wrongdoing, the case continues.
