Sanchez to appear in Congress of Deputies over Western Sahara policy change

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is likely to appear in the Congress of Deputies before the end of the month, after opposition parties called for clarity over the change in position regarding foreign policy towards the Western Sahara region.

Members of the Spanish parliament called for Mr Sanchez to make an appearance at the Cortes to explain why the Government’s policy of neutrality over the former Spanish colony had shifted.

In a press conference yesterday, government spokesperson Isabel Rodríguez said it was likely Mr. Sanchez would appear before parliamentarians next week.
