PowerOn Gold Over 1,000 migrants arrive in the Canary Islands over the weekend

Over the weekend, over one thousand migrants are confirmed to have arrived in the Canary Islands using various vessels.
This broke the record for the highest number of arrivals in a single day in 2023.
Canarian authorities are calling for more resources to support the migrants, and the President of the Canary Islands – Fernando Clavijo – has called for additional assistance from the Spanish government to handle the numbers arriving on Canarian shores.
