New 2-euro coin commemorating the Cathedral, the Alcázar, and the Archive of the Indies of Seville enters circulation in Spain

A new two-euro coin has been released in Spain to commemorate the Cathedral, Alcázar, and Archive of the Indies in Seville.

The coin is bimetallic with different alloy and colour areas.

One side of the coin features the Patio de las Doncellas of the RealAlcázar, while the reverse displays the face value, superimposed stars, and a representation of the European continent.

The coin is inscribed with ‘SEVILLA’, ‘ESPAÑA’, and the year twenty twenty-four. A total of of one and a half million coins will be minted, and are set to enter circulation in the first quarter of next year.
