Increase in traffic fatalities in Spain

The DGT’s latest accident figures for October has shown there was eighty-eight serious traffic accidents, resulting in the death of ninety-eight people, with motorcyclists accounting for the highest increase in fatalities with thirty-five deaths.
Collisions, especially frontal and multiple collisions, have increased, while fatalities from veering off the road have decreased.
Conventional roads remain the most dangerous, reporting nearly three quarters of all deaths.
owever, despite the spike in deaths last month, so far this year to date, 943 people have died on the roads, 10 fewer fatalities than in the same period in 2022.
