Four dead as Storm Adam brings disruption across Eastern Spain

Storm Adam has left four people dead after severe flooding in the Valencian Community.

Two people died in Oliva, in Alicante province, joining two earlier victims in Barcelona and Sagunto.

Roads were cut, rivers burst their banks, and 145 municipalities in Valencia and Alicante were placed under confinement orders.

Emergency crews carried out hundreds of rescues, including people stranded on rooftops and in vehicles.

By Monday evening, some transport services had resumed, although disruption remained on roads and railways.
