Five due in court after protest violence

Five people arrested following clashes at a housing demonstration in Valencia are due to appear before a judge tomorrow.

The arrests followed Saturday’s protest calling for more affordable housing.

Nine Policía Nacional officers were injured after some protesters broke through security barriers near the Palau de Les Arts, where a property investment forum was taking place.

Police responded with charges, tear gas and rubber bullets.
