Carles Puigdemont to meet with Pedro Sánchez to discuss political conflict

Carles Puigdemont, the former president of Catalonia and separatist leader, will meet with prime minister Pedro Sánchez to discuss and resolve the political conflict that has lasted between Madrid and Bacelona since the disputed independence referendum of 2017.

The exact date and location of the meeting are yet to be determined, however it will take place abroad.

The purpose of the meeting is to normalize relations between the two parties and negotiate a resolution.

However, PP have condemned the meeting, accusing Sánchez of being manipulated by Puigdemont and not upholding the law.
