68 cases of suspected church related child sexual abuse reported to state prosecutors

68 cases of suspected sexual abuse of minors by members of religious institutions have been passed to prosecutors, according to State Attourney General, Dolores Delgado.

Monday saw the end of the ten day period for the submission of cases from across the country, with investigations now being undertaken by national teams.

14 cases – the highest from one region – have been delivered in Catalonia.

Regional prosecutors from the Canary Islands have sent two cases to Madrid for investigation, whilst regional prosecutors from the Valencian community have also sent two cases to Madrid for investigation.
