State of Emergency extended until 10th May

The Congress of Deputies has confirmed the extension to the state of emergency, which will remain in force until the 10th May.
In another heated debate, parliament approved the extension, however there were vocal objections from Vox, Junts per Catalunya and the CUP.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that there would start to be a de-escalation of the confinement in the second half of next month. he went on to say that his Government was working with regional authorities on how to start to remove the current restrictions.
The vote was held on the same day that the temporary mortuary at the Ice Palace in Madrid closed. Tributes to those who died, as well as the medical and mortuary staff were paid in a brief ceremony.

Yesterday the death toll rose by 435, bringing the total to 21,717, with over 208,000 cases. 85,915 people are confirmed to have recovered from the disease.
