Second day of increase in number of deaths after week of decline

Spain has recorded its second consecutive daily increase in the number of deaths from coronavirus following a week-long decline, according to data from the Health Ministry.

757 people are confirmed to have died in the 24 hours leading to yesterday’s update, an increase of 14 on the 743 deaths reported the day before.
14,485 people have now died from the pandemic.
The Health Ministry also reported 48,021 people have now recovered from the virus, with a record breaking 4,813 more discharges from hospital on Wednesday.

Yesterday was the first day where no data regarding the number of people being in intensive care was released.
Regions have been asked to amend their method of reporting to produce the accumulated number, not current cases.
