Sanchez faces growing opposition to extension to state of alarm

The Government will ask the Congress of Deputies tomorrow to extend the state of alarm for a further two weeks, amid growing opposition.
In statements issued yesterday, Partido Popular and Catalan sepratist party the ERC has said it will join Vox in voting against a further extension to the state of alarm.
Coalicion Canarias has said it will abstain from voting in the debate. Cuidadanos has yet to declare their support for the extension, as negotiations are ongoing between the party and the coalition government.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is understood to have held lengthy calls with the main opposition leaders yesterday to discuss tomorrows debate.
