Madrid to seek approval to move to phase 1 of de-escalation

The worst affected region in Spain for the coronavirus – Madrid – is to ask for approval to move to phase 1 on the 11th May, according to information released by the regional authorities.
In a presentation by the regional coalition of Partido Popular and Ciudadanos – the local president Isabel Díaz Ayuso – has said they they will plan to move to the first stage of de-escalation with “great caution”.

63,416 cases of the virus have been reported in Madrid, leaving 8,466 dead. 38,331 people have recovered from the virus in the region.
