Madrid regional health director resigns over plans to ease lockdown in capital

The director general of the regional public health agency in Madrid has resigned after disagreements regarding the plan to move the region to phase 1 of the de-escalation.
In a statement issued yesterday afternoon, Yolanda Fuentes, tendered her resignation over what she called discrepancies with the regional governments plans. Madrid remains the worst affected region due to the pandemic.
It’s understood a disagreement between cabinet members finally led to the regional leader voting in favor of a move to phase 1 of the process to return to normality.
