Sanchez announces wearing of masks will no longer be mandatory outdoors from 26th June

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has announced that masks will no longer be mandatory on June 26 outdoors.

During a speech at an economic summit being held in Barcelona this morning, Mr Sanchez said he was due to chair an extraordinary meeting of the council of ministers next Thursday to approve the changes to legislation.
The wearing of masks will still be mandatory indoors, and where social distancing cannot be maintained.
