Weather warnings remain in place as storm Filomena makes its presence felt

Weather warnings remain in place across the entire country today, as storm Filomena continues to cause disruption nationwide.
Amber and yellow weather warnings have been issued for the Canary Islands, as strong winds, rough seas and torrential rains are expected to continue into the weekend.
Gusts of up to 90km/h are expected on exposed areas, resulting in rough seas and high waves.
Cold weather is expected to continue to cause disruption across the Costa Blanca, with inland areas of high ground expected to see snowfall in places. Areas including Alcoy are on alert for snowfall, whilst Alicante, Benidorm, Torrevieja and San Javier are under a yellow weather warning for rough seas.
Yesterday a new record was broken for the coldest ever recorded temperature in Spain, with a weather station in the Pyrenees recording a low of -34.1ºc.
