Number of people drowned off of Canarian coasts falls slightly

Twenty people have drowned off of the coasts of the Canaries since the start of the year, according to official figures released by Canarian authorities this week.
The figures have shown a slight decrease of 9% compared to last year, where 22 people died between January to May.
In total 48 people have either been killed or injured in the seas, with 1 person critically injured and 7 serious. The majority of those who died were male, with the British and German tourists the most likely to have drowned.
