Nearly 90% of Canarian population breathing polluted air

89% of the population in the Canaries breathed contaminated air last year, according to the latest annual report from Ecologists in Action.
The report used data from 59 monitoring stations located across the archipelago. It stated that in some cases pollutants exceeded the safe levels as set by the World Health Organisation.
The main sources of pollution on the islands includes cities, ports and motorways.
