The Spanish Government has agreed to send 130 vehicles to Morocco in an effort to reduce the rapidly growing number of people trying to get to the Canary Islands illegally.
More than 2,200 migrants arrived in the Canaries over the last weekend. This year, more than 11,000 people have arrived in the Canaries by sea, with half reaching the islands in October alone.
The shipment and border support is part of an ongoing operation between the two countries in an effort to reduce the volumes of illegal immigration on the islands.
