Filming in the Canaries generates millions for the local economy

71 film and television shoots took place on the archipelago last year, boosting the local economy by €60 million.

The Canarian Government announced the figures last week during a press conference with members of the Canarian film council and local media initiatives.

Over 2,000 people were also employed on film and TV projects on the islands. According to regional president Fernando Clavijo, the volume of productions quadrupled last year.
