PSOE and Podemos talks stall ahead of investiture vote
Written by on July 9, 2019
Negotiations between PSOE and Podemos ahead of the investiture debate have broken down, as a stalemate between the two parties continues.
PSOE leader and acting prime minister Pedro Sanchez, and the leader of Podemos, Pablo Iglesias, held talks in the moncloa yesterday to try to come to an agreement between the two parties.
It’s believed that Sanchez issued a warning to Iglesias that a failure to install the PSOE leader as prime minister could mean Spain facing another General Election.
Iglesias is said to have pushed for a coalition government, with himself as deputy Prime Minister.
The investiture vote is due to take place in under two weeks time.
