Over 850 cattle which have been stranded on board a ship docked in Cartagena, are set to be euthanised in the coming days over fears they may carry a bovine virus.
The animals on board the Karim Allah livestock ship have been stranded at sea following rejection from a number of countries for their unloading due to their state of health.
Concerns over cases of bovine bluetongue virus have meant that the herd is unable to be unloaded.
Last week a report was issued by Spanish veterinary authorities stating their condition would not permit them being brought into Spain or other European countries.
