Over 100,000 high speed rail tickets bought on first day of new service

Rail operator Renfe has said over 100,000 tickets for it’s new low-cost high speed rail service – Avlo – have been sold on its first day of sales.

Tickets for the new service which will initially operate between Madrid and Barcelona went on sale yesterday, with many picking up tickets to travel in July, September and October.

The new service begins on the 23rd June making four daily journeys on the no-frills trains.
