Number of coronavirus infections rise by 1,178 in a day as more towns enter lockdown

The number of recorded infections of the coronavirus has risen by 1,178 yesterday, as the Ministry of Health released its latest figures.
In an expected increase of cases due to statistical issues with reporting, the total number of new cases in the last fortnight now stands at 10,315 – since the start of the pandemic the number of cases now totals 302,814.
New lockdowns were announced in the Castilla y León towns of Val d’Iscar and Pedrajas, with residents in lockdown for at least two weeks. It’s understood the current outbreak was first detected in a poultry processing plant in the town.
In total 8 provinces are now under some form of restriction due to outbreaks of the coronavirus.
