King Felipe VI is to go into 10 days quarantine, after being in contact with someone who has tested positive for the coronavirus.
The Royal Household announced that the King would be suspending his official duties during the period, and would be isolating away from other members of the Royal Family. No other members of the monarchy were in close contact at the event held last Sunday.
The announcement came after the King held a socially distanced and masked audience with NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander for Transformation (SACT), André Lanata.
The King is not suffering any reported symptoms of the virus, however it is expected he will be tested for covid-19 in the coming days.
