The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has announced that coronavirus restrictions in Tenerife will increase to level 2, whilst Gran Canaria will see their level of restriction move down to the same level.
Lanzarote is to remain at level 4, whilst Fuerteventura, El Hierro, La Gomera & La Palma will be on level 1.
Minister of Health, Blas Trujillo, said that case numbers in Tenerife were rising again, and concerns were growing over the spread of the British strain of the virus.
The alert levels will be reviewed again next Sunday when health officials meet again.
