Coronavirus: More grim milestones passes, as deathtoll passes 30,000 and infections pass 600,000

The total number of coronavirus deaths and infections in Spain has passed another grim milestone, after 156 people are known to have died from the virus in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of deaths to 30,004 people.
The Ministry of Health has also recorded 9,437 new cases of covid-19, bringing the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic to over 600,000.
Nationwide there are just under 10,000 people in hospital suffering from symptoms of covid-19, with 1,273 in intensive care.
In 8 days the total number of infections has risen by 100,000, whilst hospital occupancy for those with the coronavirus has risen from 7% to 8.5%.
