10,799 new cases of the Coronavirus have been recorded in Spain, with a third of them in Madrid, according to official data released by the Ministry of Health.

In their latest update, they also confirmed a further 241 deaths due to covid-19.

According to the latest data, the reproductive rate of the virus – otherwise known as the R Number – currently stands at 1.04.

Catalonia has shortened the length of it’s quarantine from fourteen to ten days.

In what is being seen as a change that will soon be rolled out nationwide, those that test positive for the virus will only have to self isolate for ten days after diagnosis. Providing they are showing no symptoms after that period they will be able to leave their self isolation.
